Budget Autonoleggio - Catania

Lette alcune recensioni non proprio lusinghiere e avendo pessime esperienze alle spalle con gli autonoleggi, temevo qualche brutta sorpresa. Invece tutto è filato liscio: ho avuto un'auto nuovs e iper accessoriata di categoria superiore allo stesso prezzo di quella inferiore prenotata, i tentativi di vendere una loro polizza oltre a quella esterna già sottoscritta non sono stati aggressivi, il prezzo finale è stato abbordabile. La signora al banco è molto gentile e preparata. La macchina che ci hanno dato era nuova e comoda guidare. Unica pecca il banco Budget un po' difficile da trovare (l'indirizzo dato era fuorviante) e il ritiro è stato un po' lento.

TL;DR: we returned the car but have no proof of the return from Budget. -- We returned the car several days ago, but the person working there told us to leave as soon as he had the keys. We asked for a receipt or some paper to confirm the return, but he refused, and then called someone and was on the phone with them while giving us a 'go away' sign with his hands. We asked him if we'd get an email, and he said 'yes' so we left. It has been over 3 days and we still haven't received an email. There is no record that we returned the car. Our online booking still says we have the car. We booked via a 3rd party, EconomyBookings.com and they're investigating this. We have data from CC TV as well as our phones GPS / photos. Also- this place is VERY hard to find. You drive under a bridge, then on the other side, take a right, and drive slowly until you see a tiny little sign for "Avis and Budget". Go into the empty warehouse, all the way in, past the fooseball table and people smoking, and at the back is the Budget Office. It took us an incredibly long time to find the office.

Located in some hole under a bridge, staff are rude, and the rental conditions are clearly designed to take as much money from you as possible. Be very careful with your deposit— even if they say everything is fine when you return the car, they might invent charges later. Think twice before renting here!

I booked a day's hire online the day before; very good price for a compact which was kindly upgraded on the day. Hire processed very quickly and car quality was excellent. Big bonus being situated at the entrance to the port and open late for car return
